Cheap Bathroom Renovation

I know the post title is a bit basic...but that's what this post is all about: I did a $80 renovation to my bathroom. We didn't replace the sink, the toilet, the shower, the flooring. All we did was paint and add shower curtains.
This bathroom was something I had to look at every.single.day when walking out of our bedroom. I just got sick of looking at the ugly tile, the ugly wallpaper boarder depicting bouquets and the purple walls with weird bleach spots. We had company coming (my husbands sister (aka: Natalie over at Southern Grace) and brother-in-law (aka "The Winner" and apparent pinning sensation)) and there is never a better motivator than company coming. Can a get an amen?

SO, with 5 days to spare, we did a small reno to the bathroom.

And OMGosh. It changed everything.

I love it.

And the cheap and glorious After:

Here's the breakdown:
  • Curtains (we used both panels as a shower curtain)...$34.99 get theme here or at your closest Ikea store
  • Light...free, it was an old brass light that we took down from our downstairs as soon as we moved in. It was horrible and I hated it, until we spray painted it with the trust ol' Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint I seem to always have on hand. And then I loved it.
  • Mirror...$10 at a thrift store. I bought it about a year ago and it's gone through two moves and an extended stay in a basement. It is solid wood and has a faux bamboo border. I love it and although my husband HATED it, he's now really happy with my $10 purchase. He's just gotta learn to trust my impulse thift-store buys a little more! :)
  • Starburst Mirror...free. We actually have three, and the circle portion is supposed to be mirrored. BUT, someone dropped it in our last move, so I scrapped out the glue and broken mirror pieces and stored it until I figured out what I would do with it. It works. I like it.
  • Paint...free-ish. The wall color/primer was free. We just used the left over paint that was used in our master bathroom. The grey paint used on the mirror and cabinet was $7 for a gallon at Home Depot or Lowes (I can't remember which one). It was in their "oops" pain section.
  • Bathroom Rug...$12 at Ikea
  • Extra curtain rod/plastic shower liner/etc...$20
So, it all come in at around $80
And there ya have it. #50 of #179869839873298374298701283740187 things to go.
